It is a controlled, medically induced state affecting consciousness, pain, memory, and reflexes. Unlike natural sleep, you cannot be aroused until drugs are stopped.
Anaesthesiologists are the physicians responsible for keeping the patient stable throughout the procedure—managing blood pressure, heart rate, breathing, and pain.
Modern anaesthesia is extremely safe when administered by trained specialists. Continuous monitoring and advanced drugs have made serious complications rare.
Full honesty about medications, smoking, or health conditions is essential for safety. Even herbal supplements can interact with anaesthetics.
My mission is to make anaesthesia safer by educating non‑medical personnel and the public. Awareness reduces fear, improves cooperation, and enhances patient outcomes. I actively participate in community health talks and social media campaigns to demystify anaesthesia.
I am planning to pursue a subspecialty in Pain Management to support patients suffering from acute and chronic pain, helping them regain function and quality of life.
Above all else – rigorous protocols, double‑checking medications, and sterile techniques.
Clinical decisions guided by the latest research and guidelines.
Explaining procedures in plain language to patients and families, addressing concerns.
Regular attendance at workshops and journal clubs to stay current.
Culturally sensitive approach, respecting individual needs and beliefs.
